Standing On the Shoulders of Giants with Eric Oetter
This EP features the Head of Sports Medicine for the Memphis Grizzlies of the NBA, Eric Oetter. Eric directs an interdisciplinary team of athletic trainers, performance coaches, physical therapists, sports scientists, psychologists, and dietetic chefs supporting the Grizzlies’ athletes. Eric grew up in Georgia where he was a state-champion sprinter and college football player at Georgia Tech. In 2016, he left Georgia Tech’s Applied Physiology Ph.D. program - studying brain and nervous system plasticity - to join the Grizzlies. Eric earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the Emory University School of Medicine and is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. He has been published in both academic journals and print media. This is a great conversation about those who influence and shape our practice and ultimate success, enjoy!
